Human Services Commission Vacancies

The City of Kirkland is seeking applicants for four adult vacancies with terms ending March 31, 2029, on the Human Services Commission. There are four incumbents who are eligible to apply for reappointment to an additional term. All appointments will be made by the City Council.

Applicant Qualifications

  • Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and reside within the city limits of Kirkland.

Human Services Commission Youth Vacancy

The City of Kirkland is seeking applicants for one youth vacancy with a term ending March 31, 2027 on the Human Services Commission. All appointments will be made by the City Council.  

Applicant Qualifications

  • Individuals must have attained the grade level of Sophomore or Junior by September of the year of appointment, be under the age of 18, and reside within the City of Kirkland.

About

The Human Services Commission (HSC) advises the City Council on matters relating to the City’s efforts to support a socially sustainable community through health and human services and programs; develops recommendations on funding priorities and policies; and reviews requests and provides recommendations for grant funding of human services.

All board and commissions hold regular public meetings and are non-salaried. The Human Services Commission meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.

Application and Interview Process

Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office via online submission through our application portal, or may be mailed to Kirkland City Hall, 123 5th Avenue, Kirkland WA 98033.  The application deadline has been extended to Friday, February 21, 2025 at 4 p.m.
