Transportation Commission Vacancies

The City of Kirkland is seeking applicants to fill two adult vacancies for terms ending March 31, 2029 on the Transportation Commission. There are two incumbents who are eligible to apply for reappointment to an additional term.  All appointments will be made by the City Council. 

Applicant Qualifications

  • Individuals who are at least 18 years old and either reside, own a business, or work within the Kirkland city limits. At least four of the eight members should have some background in transportation issues.

About

The role of the Transportation Commission is to advise the City Council regarding planning and development of those transportation issues referred to them by the City Council. The Commission also submits to the City Council, through the City Manager, recommendations for such other transportation issues of interest to the Commission, or associated with Council-directed items, as the Commission feels is advisable.

All board and commissions hold regular public meetings and are non-salaried. The Transportation Commission meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 6:00 p.m.

Application and Interview Process
Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office via online submission through our application portal, or may be mailed to Kirkland City Hall, 123 5th Avenue, Kirkland WA 98033.  The application deadline has been extended to Friday, February 21, 2025 at 4 p.m.
