Due to the recent network outage and subsequent large volume of permit submittals, we are experiencing longer than normal processing times. The Planning and Building Department is currently working through a backlog, and we are seeing additional delays of 4 to 5 weeks beyond review target dates.
It is common for applicants to ask for an update on their permit. However, responding to multiple inquiries from many applicants can further delay permit reviews. Please refrain from frequently contacting your reviewer for a permit review update. The reviewers are working hard to catch up.
We understand the importance of your permit and that both reliable information on permit timeframes and timely permit issuance are critical to your project. To be fair and equitable to all applicants, we work in the order items are received and do not place one in front of another for expedited processing. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this backlog.
