Show off your reusable cup this summer!

The Bring Your Own Cup (BYOC) movement is making a triumphant return this summer, sparking enthusiasm for abandoning disposable cups! The cities of Bellevue, Bothell, Kirkland, and Redmond continue to team up to tackle waste from single-use cups.

The Eastside BYOC campaign has more coffee shop partners than ever before across these four cities, aiming to double its impact in the community through a robust social marketing campaign. Join us by saying “no” to disposables and opting to fill your own reusable cup instead!

This summer’s campaign runs from the first week of June through the end of September. Coffee shop customers who BYOC can receive one of three free stickers designed by local artists (available at partner coffee shops) and can enter a prize drawing by posting a selfie with their cup on social media using the tag @eastsidebyoc or by scanning a QR code to fill out an entry form.

Each week, participants will have a chance to win tickets to local attractions and events such as Storm games, Mariners games, Marymoor show, and more. Additionally, all BYOC participants will be entered into a grand prize drawing for an e-bike from Propella, to be awarded at the end of the campaign in September.

Why #ChooseReuse?

Reusables are Better for the Planet

  • Over their lifecycle, reusable cups have lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to disposable alternatives.

Reusables Reduce Litter

  • Transitioning to reusables helps prevent litter from ending up on the streets, in storm drains, and in rivers and lakes.

Reusables are Safe

  • Washington State Retail Food Code allows businesses to refill personal beverage containers. Reusables are safe and do not spread Covid-19.

You can feel good about doing your part to prevent pollution and other harmful environmental impacts! Learn more about the many benefits of reusables by visiting upstreamsolutions.org.
