Kirkland Forest Day is just around the corner, and we're excited to invite you to join us in honoring the remarkable role that trees play in our lives and our environment. Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 22nd as we come together to celebrate the beauty of nature.

Forest Day activities run 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. See below for more details about each activity and note that some require pre-registration.

This event is led by the City of Kirkland Planning and Building Department in partnership with the Green Kirkland Partnership and King Conservation District.

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES

Green Kirkland Volunteer Stewardship Events (pre-registration required)

Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us for a fun day of forest restoration at South Norway Hill Park and Kingsgate Park in celebration of Kirkland Arbor Day and Green Kirkland Week! Volunteers will help remove invasive weeds, spread mulch, and plant native plants. No prior experience needed, and all tools are provided. Pre-registration is requested for all participants and youth are welcome following the youth waiver guidelines.

Ceremonial Tree Planting

12:30 PM – 1:00 PM

Join us as we honor the spirit of Arbor Day through a special ceremonial tree planting event. As we gather to celebrate the significance of trees in our lives and the environment, we invite you to be a part of this meaningful gesture.


Tree Giveaway with King Conservation District (REGISTRATION FULL)

12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Join us for a wonderful opportunity to bring the beauty and benefits of trees into your own space! The City of Kirkland and King Conservation District are thrilled to present a Tree Giveaway Event, where you can receive up to two (2) free trees to enhance your surroundings and contribute to a healthier environment. 

REGISTRATION FULL. If you already registered, please visit 132nd Square Park between 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 22nd to pick up your trees!


Sustainable Landscaping Workshop with Jessi Bloom: Create Your Water-Wise Oasis! (pre-registration required)

1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Discover the art of sustainable, low-maintenance, and water-wise landscapes in this hands-on workshop led by the renowned Jessi Bloom. As a Certified Arborist and award-winning Ecological Designer, Jessi will guide you through the secrets of crafting vibrant outdoor spaces that thrive with minimal impact on the environment.
