The Kirkland City Council met on October 1, 2024, in a hybrid meeting. Here’s a brief overview of some of the items from the meeting: 

  • Council adopted amendments to the Business License Code.
  • Council reviewed the Transportation Strategic Plan and provided feedback.
  • Council approved a resolution opposing the merger between Kroger and Albertsons.
  • Council discussed Sound Cities Association board and committee appointments.

Prior to the above business agenda, the Council held a Study Session, where they: 

  • Held a joint meeting with the Senior Council to discuss 2024 accomplishments, ongoing work plan, and the needs of older adults in the community.
  • Received a briefing on Fire and Park Impact Fees.

How to watch: Kirkland City Council meetings are streamed live and can be watched after the fact on the City of Kirkland Facebook page and the City YouTube channel, in addition to the livestream on the City website.  Meetings are also televised on Comcast Cable Channel 21 and Ziply Cable Channel 31.
