Kirkland, WA – Community members are invited to meet and greet Kirkland’s new Animal Control Officer (ACO) Angela Arnold this Saturday, August 3, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Juanita Beach Park. ACO Arnold will be there to answer all your questions about animal-related topics, pet licensing - and you can even license your pet on the spot!

What does our Animal Control Officer do? One of ACO Arnold’s most important responsibilities is to reunite lost pets in Kirkland with their owners by giving the pet a free ride home. But that’s not all. ACO Arnold has many other duties that benefit our whole community, even if some of us don’t have pets, such as:

  • Investigating reports of animal neglect and cruelty
  • Assisting with wildlife interactions
  • Patrolling our parks to make sure pet owners are following leash and waste removal laws so all community members can enjoy our parks
  • Educating community members about City pet laws and pet licensing while out on patrol or at community events

The position of Animal Control Officer is housed within the Kirkland Police Department, which recently launched a new text notification service, through which information on lost pets, pet licensing, and more will be sent out from ACO Arnold. Sign up today by texting "PETS" to (425) 490-8326!
