Want to make an impact and serve your community? Ever wish you could provide formal recommendations to the City Council? Then you could apply to a City advisory board or commission. The deadline has been extended to February 21, 2025, for select committees.
Kirkland’s advisory boards and commissions help shape city policies by gathering input, analyzing issues, and making recommendations to the City Council. Most boards and commissions hold monthly evening meetings. To decrease potential barriers to participation, the City provides childcare stipends for board and commission members. Kirkland community members who meet eligibility requirements are invited to apply to the City Clerk by 4 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025. Eligibility requirements differ for each board or commission. Visit the Current Recruitment Positions page or call the City Clerk’s Office at 425-587-3190 to learn more and apply.
Members of most advisory boards and commissions are appointed by the City Council. Members of the Civil Service Commission are appointed by the City Manager. City Council interviews for potential members will be held on the evening of Thursday, March 13, 2025.
Application deadlines have been extended for the following boards and commissions:
