Fire Fighters Respond to Single-Family House Fire in Totem Lake

UPDATE (11:35): The house where the fire began is a total loss and the neighboring house has significant damage. Nine people from two families have been  displaced and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross. Roads are still closed, and will remain closed for some time. 

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Kirkland Fire Department is currently responding to a single-family house fire at the 133rd block of 117th Ave NE in the Totem Lake neighborhood.   

The two-alarm fire began this morning and quickly spread to a neighboring home. Kirkland firefighters rapidly responded and have been joined by firefighters from Bellevue, Redmond, Bothell, Northshore, and Woodinville. The fire is under control, but efforts to extinguish the fire are ongoing. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. 

Roads in the area will be closed for some time as firefighters continue their work. Updates will be available on the City of Kirkland website and social media channels.
