Get Involved in Kirkland’s Next Two-Year City Budget

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The City Council is seeking input from the community now through Fall 2024 while they develop the 2025-2026 city budget. The City budget sets the course for a wide range of City services including public safety, keeping parks beautiful and pedestrians safe, protecting the natural environment, and ensuring housing for all.

“Budgeting means making choices, and our goal is to make choices that reflect what our community needs and wants,” said Kirkland City Councilmember Jon Pascal. “The budget determines how City services are funded, which affects the day-to-day lives of those in our community and shapes the future of Kirkland.  Community involvement is key to establishing priorities and striking the right balance.”

There’s a lot that goes into the City’s budget. Show what you know by taking the City Budget Pop Quiz, and weigh in on what’s important to you. Everyone who completes the quiz will be entered into a drawing to win $60 Kirkland Ca$h.

Here are some other ways to share your thoughts on how Kirkland’s programs are funded:

• Participate in an upcoming public hearing. Public hearings on the budget are scheduled to take place during city council meetings on November 6 and 19. Learn more at www.kirklandwa.gov/council.
• Provide feedback through Our Kirkland or email budgetfeedback@kirklandwa.gov.
• Sign up for This Week in Kirkland for weekly updates about City Council decisions and other important City of Kirkland information.
