KIRKLAND, Wash. – The City of Kirkland announces the launch of its official podcast, “This Week in Kirkland” – a friendly, audio version of the City’s weekly digital e-newsletter of the same name, bringing listeners timely topics and noteworthy news happening around Kirkland every week.
“We hope this casual - yet informative - podcast will help break down the bureaucratic reputation of local government and give community members more accessibility to City news, info, and events,” said Kirkland Deputy Mayor Jay Arnold. “It’s also just fun to hear the information straight from City staff and get to know them as the people behind the job titles.”
The “This Week in Kirkland” (TWIK) podcast is hosted by Deputy City Manager for External Affairs Jim Lopez, who is joined by members of the City’s Communications team.
Podcast listeners will hear a variety of Kirkland stories and info, including:
- What’s happening at City Council meetings;
- Tips from different City departments;
- Updates on parks, paving, and other constructions projects;
- Info on fun local events;
- Opportunities to provide feedback on upcoming initiatives; and
- A little Kirkland trivia.
The TWIK podcast is published every Friday and will be found on Spotify, Apple Music or wherever you get your podcasts.
