Kirkland Police Investigate Fatal Single Vehicle Collision

Kirkland, WA – Around 6 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, Kirkland Police responded to a fatal single-vehicle rollover crash in the Juanita area. The driver was a 92-year-old Kirkland resident and did not survive. No other people were injured.

The incident occurred near the 12000 block of 98th Avenue NE. Preliminary reports indicate that the driver was traveling southbound on 98th Avenue NE and crashed into a center island light pole, which caused the vehicle to flip over. Kirkland Police and Fire crews responded promptly to the incident and attempted lifesaving measures. Unfortunately, the driver died at the scene.

The Kirkland Police Traffic and Critical Incident Response Team responded to the scene and is conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. The King County Medical Examiner is also investigating whether any underlying conditions may have contributed to the crash.

This investigation remains ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
