KIRKLAND, Wash. – We all want to have a fun and safe Fourth of July. We remind community members that fireworks are illegal in Kirkland and have been since 1999 - even on our country’s Independence Day.
It is prohibited in Kirkland to light fireworks, sell them, or have them in your possession, including sparklers and smoke bombs. If you need to dispose of unused fireworks, call Kirkland Police Department at (425) 577-5656. If police see you with fireworks, they could seize them and issue you a ticket.
Going just outside Kirkland city limits to light fireworks is also not a good idea - a ban on fireworks throughout unincorporated King County went into effect in 2022.
