Traffic Alert: Mother’s Day Half Marathon & 5K

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The annual Mother’s Day Half Marathon and 5K is Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Juanita Beach Park. Drivers should expect traffic delays and parking restrictions in the area. Please note: vehicles parked in restricted areas will be towed during the event. Course maps are available at https://orcarunning.com/mothers-day-half/.
Roads will be impacted from 7:15 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. or when the last runner finishes. Additionally, the following closures will be in place:
- Juanita Beach Park parking lot
- Eastbound Juanita Drive between 93rd Avenue NE and 98th Avenue NE (detour in place)
- Southbound Lakeshore Plaza between Central Way and Kirkland Avenue
Event organizers expect 1,200 athletes to participate in the race/walk which includes a Half Marathon, 5K and Kids Dash courses. The event raises money in support of the non-profit Girls on the Run Puget Sound which inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that integrates running.
